Uptown

- Main Marker

Uptown is a special part of South Minneapolis, or more specifically Southwest Minneapolis. The boundaries of Uptown vary depending on who you talk to. Traditionally, it includes these neighborhoods: ECCO, CARAG, East Isles, and Lowry Hill East. The Uptown Association has it differenty, being bounded by 28th and 31st streets, and Lake Calhoun to Dupont.

Uptown is named after Chicago’s Uptown District. The centerpiece of Uptown is the Hennepin – Lagoon intersection, featuring several different commercial enterprises.

The Uptown Art Fair is one of the areas largest fairs and has many local, and national artists.

Some of the area’s restaurants include Chino Latino, Chiang Mai Thai, Amazing Thailand, Stella’s, Famous Daves (pictured), and so many more, too many to mention them all.
