This year was off to a strong start in the spring but has changed this fall. Normally we have a strong spring market, with a decline around the start of summer, and a small rebound just after labor day. But this year is different. There hasn't been much of a rebound.
I talked to several agents and they all say the same thing. Buyers are down, showings on listings are down.
My take is this: since our spring market was so strong, maybe 75% of the buyers bought in the March - June timeframe, leaving not as many buyers left for this fall. Whatever the case, this year has so far mirrored last year with the same thing happening in 2015.
