Surly Brewing was opened in 2005 by Omar Ansari, who was frustrated that he couldn't find the beer he was searching for, so he decided to create it. Surly Destination Brewery in Prospect Park is a popular destination for beer tours, great food and get-togethers. One of Omar's greatest accomplishments was getting a law changed that previously prevented production breweries from selling their product on-site. The "Surly Bill" was passed in 2011 and we have seen an explosion in craft beer breweries since then. Thank you, Omar!
