The Guidant John Rose MN OVAL is an outdoor ice rink/recreational facility that is 110,000 square feet and run by the City. It is one of the largest in North America, if not the largest artificial outdoor-surfaced ice rink on the continent. It was constructed in 1993, and it has been the site of many prominent events ever since, such as the US Speedskating Championships and the World Cup Speedskating. It is open to the public for recreational ice skating in the winter, and it's turned into a skating park in the summer. Some of the summer activities include aggressive skating, BMX biking, and inline skating.
