Interstate State Park is 295 acres and the second-oldest Minnesotan state park. There is so much to do, and it can be an all-day adventure. It is so named because it spans both Minnesota and Wisconsin (which is an additional 1,330 acres). There are a variety of robust activitise offered, including rock/cliff climbing, geocaching, kayaking, hiking, camping, and much more.
For people who are of a more relaxed nature, they can just wander around and soak up the various flora and fauna. There are also stunning views of the St. Croix River, upon which the park is located, and Wisconsin, which is across the way. And there are 200+ potholes of different shapes and sizes that were created by the glacial St. Croix River over 10,000 years ago.
There are bluffs that overlook the river, which can be walked. The notable one is the Sandstone Bluff Trail, and it's a challenging mile-long uphill trek (the hardest of the four trails) that results in a stunning view at the peak.
